Where can elastic energy be found?

Elastic energy is result of, and typically abundant, when a active physical force is in the process of being held back, restrained, resisted, or countered. Common examples of this would be pressurized air or a coiled spring, and is often refered to as stored energy.

What elastic energy looks like

With the same amount of air in Cube 2 as Cube 1, with less space to move around in, the air pressure increases. This pressure then takes the role of elastic energy, or stored energy. Note: If the newly shrunken Cube was punctured, the air would rush out (taking the form of motion), moving not only the air itself, but pushing the cube in the oposite direction as well. The same goes for the spring when the coil is releaced.
